Manama, Bahrain – The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned in the strongest terms the renewed Iranian attacks targeting the Kingdom of Bahrain and the sister State of Kuwait at dawn today.
The Ministry confirmed that these attacks included the launching of seven ballistic missiles towards the territories of the two countries. It was successfully intercepted thanks to the vigilance of the valiant armed forces. They also succeeded in confronting any sinful aggression thanks to their complete readiness.
Violation of sovereignty and breach of international norms
The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that this blatant aggression constitutes a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of both countries and a blatant breach of the UN Charter and international norms. Furthermore, it represents a further disregard for international law, particularly Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026), which condemned Iran’s unjustified attacks and any attempts to obstruct navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
The Ministry indicated that this aggression poses a direct threat to the security and stability of the Arabian Gulf region. Moreover, it contradicts the values of Islam, which calls for the rejection of aggression and the sanctity of life, especially during these blessed days.
A call for peace and freedom of navigation
The ministry emphasized that “security is not built with missiles and drones, nor is stability maintained by planting mines.” It called on Tehran to immediately cease these aggressive practices and embrace peace.
The ministry demanded that the Iranian side fully open the Strait of Hormuz without restrictions or tolls to safeguard the freedom of international navigation. It also called for full compliance with relevant Security Council resolutions. Furthermore, it demanded the immediate disclosure of the locations of sea mines and cooperation in their removal. The ministry added the importance of providing a safe humanitarian corridor for the safe passage of civilian vessels and allowing the departure of more than 20,000 stranded seafarers to ensure their safe return to their families.
“There will be no compromise in protecting the people.”
In closing, the Kingdom of Bahrain reaffirmed its commitment to peace and stability. It emphasized that its patience “does not imply weakness,” and that defending its sovereignty and security and protecting its people is a “red line that cannot be compromised.”
The Ministry clarified that it will take all legitimate measures to protect its security. At the same time, it expressed its confidence in the support of its brothers and allies. It delivered a decisive message to Iran, stating that the choice lies with those launching missiles and drones: “Either engage in the path of peace and cooperation, or condemn themselves to isolation and international marginalization.”
