Beirut, Lebanon – Four people were injured on Thursday in Israeli airstrikes and artillery shelling targeting several areas in the Tyre district of southern Lebanon. This latest escalation reflects the ongoing tensions along the Lebanese-Israeli border.
Local sources reported that Israeli aircraft targeted several locations around towns in the Tyre district. Meanwhile, artillery fire struck various areas. The attacks resulted in injuries to four people and caused material damage to several properties.
Ambulance and civil defense teams rushed to the targeted sites. The wounded were transported to hospitals for treatment. Meanwhile, relevant authorities began assessing the damage and clearing the debris from the shelling.
Southern Lebanon has recently witnessed an escalation in military operations and exchanges of fire. This is exacerbating fears of a wider conflict. It comes amidst ongoing security tensions along the border. In addition, there are resulting humanitarian and security repercussions for residents of border areas.
