Tehran, Iran – Iranian authorities announced that security forces, through a series of focused field intelligence operations and the efforts of officers and agents of the Ministry of Intelligence, identified and arrested 21 agents linked to the Israeli Mossad intelligence agency. They were arrested in the Kerman Province Intelligence Directorate.
Monitoring sensitive and military sites
The Mehr News Agency reported that the Ministry of Intelligence issued a statement confirming the dismantling of this large spy cell. Initial investigations revealed that these intelligence agents were actively gathering sensitive and precise information from classified centers in vital military and defense sectors. Furthermore, this information was then transmitted directly to Israeli intelligence.
Weapons and cells linked to the events of January 2026 were seized.
In a related development, security forces during the same operations identified and arrested four armed criminals in the same province. They seized large quantities of weapons, ammunition, and hunting rifles in their possession. Furthermore, as part of the Ministry of Security’s continued firm and decisive action against key players involved in the January 2016 coup attempt, raids resulted in the seizure of four additional weapons from five arrested armed individuals. Their direct involvement in the coup attempt has been confirmed. Official sources confirmed that all detainees have been handed over to the competent judicial authorities. This is to complete the legal procedures against them and bring them to justice.
