Istanbul, Turkey – Turkish club Trabzonspor officially announced on Thursday the signing of Egyptian star Mohamed Salah on a free transfer. The Egyptian national team captain begins a new chapter in his professional career after the end of his time with English club Liverpool.
The club confirmed in a statement on its official platforms that Salah has signed a two-year contract. He will remain with Trabzonspor until the summer of 2028, after all contractual procedures are completed.

Mohamed Salah arrived in Turkey on Wednesday, where he received a huge welcome from Trabzonspor fans. Supporters of the club gathered around the airport and in the city streets to greet the Egyptian national team captain.
Trabzonspor marks Salah’s sixth European club, following stints with Swiss side Basel, English club Chelsea, Italian clubs Fiorentina and Roma, and English club Liverpool.
According to press reports, Salah will receive an annual salary of up to €17 million. In addition, bonuses could reach €5 million per season. The agreement also includes a percentage of shirt sales revenue for the player. Reports indicate this percentage is between 20% and 25%, though Trabzonspor’s management has stated that the figures circulating regarding this percentage are inaccurate. Official details will be announced later.
