Paris, France – The French Prime Minister announced that the government has decided to deploy more than 1,000 military personnel to assist in combating the wildfires raging across several regions of the country. This deployment aims to support firefighters who are working to contain the blazes and prevent them from spreading to residential areas.

The Prime Minister explained that the military will provide logistical and field support, including assistance with evacuations and securing affected areas. In addition, the troops will participate in clearing roads and transporting equipment and supplies to emergency teams. This effort is part of a national mobilization to address the crisis.

Firefighters, supported by firefighting aircraft and helicopters, are continuing their efforts to control the blazes. This comes amid challenging weather conditions, including high temperatures and strong winds. These factors are increasing the speed of the fires and complicating firefighting operations.

The French government has emphasized that the safety of its citizens is a top priority, urging residents in threatened areas to follow the instructions of local authorities. Meanwhile, relevant agencies are continuing to monitor the situation and take the necessary measures to minimize human and material losses.

Several European countries are experiencing intense heat waves this summer. These waves have contributed to an increased risk of wildfires. Such conditions have prompted governments to raise their level of preparedness and strengthen cooperation between civil and military agencies. This is to combat this recurring phenomenon.
