Moscow, Russia – The Russian Defense Ministry announced that its forces carried out a series of precision strikes targeting military-industrial facilities in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv. It confirmed that the attacks targeted sites involved in the production and maintenance of equipment and weapons used by Ukrainian forces.
In a statement, the ministry explained that the strikes were carried out using high-precision weapons and drones. It indicated that all designated targets were successfully hit. This comes as part of ongoing military operations that Moscow says are targeting Ukrainian military infrastructure.
In response, Ukrainian authorities announced the activation of air defense systems to counter the attacks. They also confirmed that the capital, Kyiv, and several other regions were subjected to airstrikes in recent hours. Emergency teams are currently assessing the extent of the damage to the targeted sites.
This escalation comes amidst ongoing clashes on the front lines. Furthermore, the exchange of attacks between the two sides continues, while Western efforts to bolster military support for Kyiv persist. Russia, meanwhile, maintains its commitment to continuing operations to achieve its military objectives.
The Russian-Ukrainian conflict remains poised for further escalation as military operations and exchanges of fire continue. The international community awaits any diplomatic initiatives that might contribute to de-escalation and hopes for a political settlement to the crisis.
