London, UK – Data from shipping and energy tracking company Kpler shows a significant decline in the number of vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz along the Omani coast.
This indicates continued caution among shipping companies despite a gradual improvement in maritime traffic.
A sharp decline in the Omani trajectory
Kepler data indicates that only one vessel transited alongside Oman,
compared to 13 vessels that used the same route on Friday.
This reflects a significant decrease in the use of this passage in recent hours.
19 ships crossed the strait
Kpler explained that a total of 19 ships transited the Strait of Hormuz yesterday in both directions.
Only one of these ships used the route parallel to the Omani coast,
while the rest followed other routes within the strait.
Caution prevails in shipping operations
The figures from Kepler reflect the continued caution in the maritime transport sector,
given the heightened security measures and tensions witnessed in the Strait of Hormuz in recent months.
This comes despite signs of recovery in shipping traffic and an increase in the number of transiting vessels compared to previous periods.
Shipping data indicates that transit volume remains below the normal levels seen before the crisis,
as shipping companies continue to assess risks and choose the safest routes.
