Kyiv, Ukraine – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed hope that his country would receive more air defense systems during the upcoming NATO summit in Ankara.

This comes amid ongoing Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities.

Strengthening defense capabilities

Zelensky stressed that Ukraine needs to strengthen its air defense systems

to protect civilians and infrastructure from ongoing attacks.

He also indicated that this issue is a priority during his discussions with NATO leaders.

Expectations from the Ankara Summit

The Ukrainian president explained that he hopes the summit will produce

practical decisions to support Ukraine’s defense capabilities.

He also hopes these decisions will contribute to strengthening its security

and its ability to meet current military challenges.

Continued Western support

Zelensky remarks come as Western countries continue to explore

mechanisms for providing military support to Ukraine.

Meanwhile, the war with Russia continues, with Ukraine increasingly

demanding advanced air defense systems to counter air and missile attacks.
