Islamabad, Pakistan – Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called on all parties involved in regional tensions to exercise maximum restraint and avoid any actions that could further escalate the situation.

He also stressed the need to give diplomatic efforts a greater chance to achieve tangible results.

The Prime Minister stated that peace must remain the preferred option for all parties,

especially given the indications that the ongoing political and diplomatic efforts are nearing their ultimate goals.

He further emphasized the importance of prioritizing dialogue over military confrontation.

Call to reduce tensions

The Pakistani official stressed that continued escalation could undermine efforts to reach political settlements and threaten security and stability in the region.

He added that the current phase requires wisdom and responsibility

to avoid any developments that could widen the scope of existing crises.

He noted that the international community is closely monitoring developments.

He also emphasized the need for practical steps to support de-escalation

and prevent the situation from spiraling into wider confrontations.

Support for diplomatic solutions

The Pakistani Prime Minister explained that his country believes in the importance of peaceful solutions to conflicts,

and supports all initiatives aimed at enhancing dialogue and bringing viewpoints closer between the various parties.

This contributes to long-term security and stability.

He added that diplomacy still represents the most effective way to address complex disputes,

especially in light of the current regional and international challenges.

Fears of the repercussions of escalation

The Pakistani prime minister’s remarks come at a time of escalating tensions in the region,

fueled by rapidly unfolding security and military developments.

This is occurring amidst intensive international efforts to contain the crisis and prevent its expansion.

Observers believe that the repeated calls for de-escalation reflect growing concern

about the political and economic repercussions of any further escalation,

particularly given the connection between the current situation and security

and strategic issues that directly impact regional and international stability.
