Kyiv, Ukraine – Ukraine has directed official and direct accusations against Russian forces. It accused them of launching a military attack on two civilian ships. These two ships belong to the maritime search and rescue service. The incident occurred while they were carrying out a delicate humanitarian mission. This took place in Ukrainian waters located within the Black Sea. Preliminary reports confirmed injuries among the working crews.

On the other hand, Oleksiy Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, stated details of the incident. He said the two ships were on a noble humanitarian mission. The movement was within the official Ukrainian maritime corridor. This corridor is designated for global commercial navigation. But the ships were subjected to a sudden attack by Russian forces.

In a related context, Kuleba explained in a post via “Telegram”. That the attack resulted in injuries among the workers. He confirmed that evacuation operations began immediately and urgently. Ukrainian Navy boats were used in the operation. All injured were transported from the targeting zone safely.

Furthermore, this incident comes amidst ongoing tensions. The Black Sea is witnessing almost daily confrontations between Moscow and Kyiv. The region possesses major strategic importance for global trade. It represents a vital corridor for maritime shipping movement.

The Importance of the Maritime Corridor and Mutual Accusations Between Russia and Ukraine

On another note, Ukrainian authorities confirm their right to navigation. They describe the maritime corridor as a lifeline for exports and imports. In return, Russia and Ukraine exchange ongoing accusations. Each side accuses the other of targeting infrastructure. Facilities linked to navigation in the Black Sea are also targeted.
