Washington – United States / Islamabad – Pakistan – The foreign ministers of the United States and Pakistan discussed, during a high-level phone call, ways to strengthen international efforts aimed at containing escalating tensions in the Middle East. They also backed de-escalation pathways and restoring stability to several regional conflict zones. During the talks, both sides affirmed the vital importance of intensifying political and diplomatic coordination among active world capitals. This is necessary to curb escalation risks and prevent the widening of regional crises that impact international peace and security.

Prioritizing Political Options Over Military Solutions

The discussion covered a number of files of mutual interest. Foremost among these were the security and humanitarian developments in the Middle East. They stressed the need to support regional and international endeavors aimed at promoting dialogue as a fundamental choice for conflict resolution. In addition, they opposed military solutions that further complicate both the political and field landscapes.

Security Partnership and Countering Extremism

The two parties also underscored the importance of sustained cooperation between Washington and Islamabad on regional security issues and countering extremism. They noted the pivotal role Pakistan can play as an essential partner in backing regional stability through multilateral diplomatic channels.

Practical Approaches to Enhance Global Stability

The viewpoints aligned on continuing consultations and coordination during the upcoming phase. This is within joint efforts aimed at crystallizing practical approaches that contribute to lowering escalation. Furthermore, these efforts boost de-escalation opportunities in the Middle East. This dynamic positively reflects on the broader framework of global stability.
