Moscow, Russia – The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Thursday that its forces successfully seized control of the settlement of Novoselivka, located in the Kharkiv region of northeastern Ukraine, as part of ongoing military operations across multiple frontlines. In a statement carried by the “Sputnik” agency, the ministry noted that units from the Russian “North” grouping of forces executed intensive offensive operations resulting in the capture of the village, while confirming continued Russian advances in several areas of Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia.
Intensive Strikes and Destruction of Electronic Warfare Systems
The statement added that Russian forces also managed to launch targeted strikes against Ukrainian troops in various sectors, destroying military hardware and electronic warfare stations, while inflicting significant personnel casualties on Kyiv over the past hours. According to the defense ministry, forces from the Russian “Dnepr” grouping destroyed several Ukrainian military vehicles, while the “East” grouping continued its push deep into Ukrainian defensive lines along the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia axes amidst what Moscow described as “violent” clashes.
Improving Tactical Positions on the Line of Contact
Furthermore, Moscow indicated that units from the “West” grouping improved their tactical positions along the lines of contact, while the “Center” grouping maintained relentless pressure on Ukrainian forces on the eastern front, validating new field gains achieved during recent maneuvers.
Ongoing Escalation for Over Four Years
These developments unfold as confrontations between the Russian and Ukrainian armies persist across multiple sectors, characterized by escalating reciprocal strikes and attempts by each faction to consolidate field positions ahead of any potential political moves regarding the conflict, which has been ongoing for more than four years.
