Baghdad, Iraq – The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on Saudi Arabia to share information and data related to the drone attack targeting its territory. It also confirmed that Iraqi authorities have launched an official investigation to uncover the circumstances of the incident.

In a statement, the Iraqi Foreign Ministry said that relevant security and technical agencies have begun investigating information regarding the launch of drones from within Iraqi territory toward Saudi Arabia.

It also emphasized Baghdad’s commitment to preventing its territory

from being used in any activities that threaten the security of neighboring countries.

Iraqi investigations to uncover the circumstances

The ministry confirmed that the ongoing investigations aim to identify those responsible for launching the drones

and to determine the details of the operation and the surrounding circumstances, in coordination with the relevant security institutions.

It added that Iraq takes any information related to threats to the security and stability of the region’s countries very seriously.

It also indicated that the results of the investigations will be announced as soon as they are completed.

Call to strengthen security coordination

The Iraqi Foreign Ministry stressed the importance of security cooperation and coordination,

as well as information sharing, between Baghdad and Riyadh,

which contributes to confronting cross-border security threats and maintaining the security and stability of the region.

It affirmed that Iraq rejects the use of its territory as a launching pad for any attacks targeting neighboring countries.

This stems from its commitment to the principles of good neighborliness and respect for the sovereignty of states.

He was keen on the stability of the region

The Iraqi statements come amid escalating security tensions in the region and a rise in drone and missile attacks.

Simultaneously, there are regional and international calls for enhanced security cooperation to prevent further escalation.

Observers believe that coordination between Iraq and Saudi Arabia on such issues represents a crucial step toward supporting regional stability.

It also strengthens joint efforts to address the growing security challenges in the region.
