Washington, DC – Reuters reported that the man accused of attempting to assassinate US President Donald Trump denied all charges against him during a court hearing.

This followed a shooting incident at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner in Washington, DC.

US authorities arrested the suspect after the incident, which triggered a security alert.

Gunshots were heard in the lobby of the Helion Hotel, prompting the immediate evacuation of President Trump

and First Lady Melania Trump from the venue.

Tight security measures

US security officials confirmed that Secret Service agents and law enforcement responded swiftly to the incident.

They were able to control the situation and apprehend the shooter within a short time.

A heavy security presence was deployed around the hotel following the incident.

Meanwhile, federal authorities launched a comprehensive investigation

to uncover the circumstances of the incident and the suspect’s motives.

US President Donald Trump, in a post on his official page, said that the Secret Service

and law enforcement agencies “acted quickly and bravely.”

He also praised the efficiency of the security forces in containing the incident.

Ongoing investigations

Trump added that the incident “will not affect his future plans.”

He also affirmed that he would continue to perform his duties and public activities as normal.

The relevant authorities in the United States are continuing their investigation into the incident.

There is anticipation regarding what the investigation will reveal about the suspect’s background

and the possible motives behind the attempt to target the US president.

The incident comes amidst a tense political and security climate in the United States as the upcoming political elections approach.

As a result, authorities have tightened security measures related to the movements of official figures.
