Kyiv, Ukraine – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation between their two countries, as well as coordinating efforts on a number of international issues. This comes amidst the growing challenges facing Europe.
During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of expanding strategic relations, particularly in the areas of security, defense, and energy. They also focused on supporting the Ukrainian economy and reconstruction programs, which would enhance the country’s ability to overcome the repercussions of the current crises.
Zelenskyy stressed the need for continued international support for his country, noting that the current phase requires greater cooperation among partners to confront security and political challenges. He also believes that this cooperation will ensure stability in the region.
