Brussels, Belgium – Europe is facing an unprecedented crisis following the imposition of strict restrictions on pesticide use. This has led to a significant decline in agricultural production. The situation is raising concerns about European food security and the ability of countries to meet their populations’ food needs. This comes at a time when global markets are experiencing sharp fluctuations in grain and vegetable prices.

Agricultural experts warn that the continued shortage could force some European countries to import large quantities from abroad. This would increase dependence on global markets and expose consumers to higher prices. European Union reports indicate that the crisis is exacerbated by climate change. Climate change is placing further pressure on farmers and making pest control more difficult.

European authorities also emphasize that alternative environmental solutions, such as organic farming and promoting biodiversity, will not be sufficient in the short term to bridge the production gap. Therefore, the situation calls for swift intervention to ensure the continuity of food supplies and price stability.
