Kuwait – The Kuwait Ministry of Defense announced that the armed forces detected 8 ballistic missiles and 19 hostile drones within the airspace during the past 24 hours and dealt
with them according to the procedures followed without recording any human casualties or material damage.
Dealing with aerial threats
Colonel Saud Al-Atwan, the official spokesperson for the Kuwait Ministry of Defense,
stated that the air defense systems effectively engaged the missiles and drones,
neutralizing them and preventing them from reaching their intended targets.
He affirmed that these measures were part of the established
emergency plans to ensure airspace security and the safety of citizens.
Inspection and disposal of explosives
Al-Atwan explained that the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team
of the Land Forces Engineering Corps responded to four reports during the same period.
He emphasized that these measures are part of the precautionary steps taken
to ensure the safety of vital sites and residential areas from any potential threats.
Addressing regional tensions
The spokesperson noted that these developments come amid escalating regional tensions,
emphasizing that the Kuwait armed forces remain on high alert and preparedness.
He added that military authorities are working to develop mechanisms for monitoring and countering
any future threats, thereby enhancing the protection of national airspace and the country’s stability.
