Kuwait – The Kuwaiti National Guard announced the downing of two drones after they were detected in the country’s airspace. This comes as part of the heightened security measures the state is taking to protect vital installations and sites amid escalating regional tensions.

In an official statement, the National Guard explained that its monitoring and tracking systems detected the two drones immediately upon their entry into Kuwaiti airspace. They were immediately engaged and downed according to the established rules of engagement to protect the country’s security and the safety of its vital installations.

The statement affirmed that the relevant forces have raised their readiness levels across all military and security sectors. Air and maritime surveillance operations have also been intensified in anticipation of any potential threats targeting Kuwaiti territory or its strategic installations.

The Kuwaiti National Guard emphasized that security agencies are continuing to closely monitor regional developments. This is being done in coordination with the relevant military authorities to ensure a swift response to any breaches or attempts that threaten the country’s security.

This development comes at a time of heightened military tension in the region. For this reason, several Gulf states have bolstered their air defense systems and raised their security preparedness levels to protect their airspace and vital installations.
