Kathmandu, Nepal – A tragic accident on Nepal’s rugged mountain roads left 44 people dead or injured, including several foreign tourists, after their bus plunged into a fast-flowing glacier.

Nepalese authorities reported that the bus was carrying both local and foreign tourists when it skidded on a narrow mountain road and fell into the frozen river.

They added that rescue teams and the Nepalese army rushed to the scene

and managed to pull the injured from the wreckage and transport them to nearby hospitals.

The search for any missing persons continues.

The accident led to the suspension of traffic on the mountain road, renowned for its scenic beauty.

Authorities urged drivers to exercise extreme caution when traveling on mountain roads, especially during the frosty and icy season.

Local sources indicated that initial investigations are focusing on the possibility

that the driver lost control of the bus due to ice and skidding.

They also confirmed that the safety of tourist transport in the area is being closely monitored,

particularly after a series of similar accidents in recent years.
