Supporting unity and sovereignty

Egypt expressed its hope that this agreement would represent a crucial step towards launching a comprehensive political process that includes all Syrian components without exclusion. This would contribute to supporting the unity of the Syrian state, strengthening its security and stability, and preserving its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Constants of the Egyptian position

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in its statement, reaffirmed Egypt’s steadfast position on the Syrian crisis: preserving Syria’s unity and supporting its national institutions. It stressed the necessity of ensuring stability for all segments of the Syrian people, safeguarding citizens’ rights, and strengthening national cohesion. Furthermore, it emphasized the importance of continuing international and regional efforts to combat terrorism in all its forms, considering it a cornerstone for restoring stability and improving the humanitarian situation. The Egyptian Foreign Ministry also reiterated its complete rejection of any external interference or aggression targeting the unity and territorial integrity of Syria.

Recovery and Reconstruction Aspirations

Egypt concluded its statement by affirming its continued support for all efforts aimed at reaching a comprehensive and sustainable political settlement that meets the aspirations of the brotherly Syrian people for security and development, and paves the way for the start of the recovery and reconstruction phase.
