Washington, DC – Western reports have revealed that the US military is planning to reduce its participation in approximately 30 NATO organizations and agencies. This move comes as part of a comprehensive review of Washington’s military and financial priorities within the alliance.

According to sources, the plan aims to redistribute resources and reduce operational burdens. The US is focusing on what it considers more pressing issues related to direct national security, amid increasing domestic pressure to reduce overseas spending.

The reports indicate that the potential reduction does not signify a complete withdrawal from the alliance. However, it could limit the US role in certain technical committees, coordination centers, and advisory bodies. This raises questions about the future balance of power within NATO and the role of European allies.

The US move has sparked concern in European circles. Observers believe that any reduction in US participation could impact decision-making mechanisms within the alliance. Furthermore, it could place greater responsibilities on European countries regarding collective defense and security. This development comes at a time when NATO is facing mounting challenges, from the war in Ukraine to escalating geopolitical tensions. Therefore, any shift in the American role is being closely watched on the international stage.
