Kuwait – As part of the Criminal Security Sector’s efforts to monitor and track content published on social media, it was discovered that an account holder on one of the platforms was posting content that could incite sectarian strife. This was done by reenacting historical events from the perspectives of those involved, in a manner that violates applicable laws and regulations. This prompted immediate action from the relevant security authorities. His Excellency the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, directly supervised the operation. It was also discovered that a Husseiniya (Shia religious center) was being used inside a private residence without a license to conduct religious rites in violation of the law. This resulted in a breach of public order and caused a disturbance to the neighbors.

The Ministry of Interior explained that the Criminal Security Sector, through investigations and field surveillance, was able to seize the illegal Husseiniya. It had been deliberately equipped internally to mimic real scenes by creating special sets, equipment, and props. This was in clear violation of the law and constitutes a blatant breach of public order. Furthermore, the location used to film this content was found to have been prepared in a way that endangered the lives of others. This was due to the use of highly flammable materials and the presence of electrical wiring that did not meet safety standards. This poses a direct threat to lives and property.

The Ministry added that the necessary legal measures were taken against those responsible for the site, and they were referred to the competent authorities. The unlicensed Husseiniya was also closed. Furthermore, coordination was made with Kuwait Municipality to remove all encroachments outside the property. The necessary procedures were implemented within the relevant jurisdiction to ensure that the violations are addressed and prevented from recurring. His Excellency Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah affirmed that the Ministry of Interior will not tolerate any practices that violate the law, regardless of their name or pretext. Such violations will be dealt with immediately, decisively, and without exception, in order to maintain public order, the comfort of residents, and the security of the community.

His Excellency added that the Criminal Security Sector and all security agencies will continue to perform their duties with full force and decisiveness. Furthermore, no activities or gatherings that violate public order or cause disturbance to residents will be permitted. He emphasized that the application of the law is unwavering and that the security and stability of society are a non-negotiable priority. The Ministry of Interior called upon citizens and residents to cooperate with security authorities and report any violations or negative practices they observe to the relevant security agencies. This underscores the importance of community partnership in maintaining security and stability.
