Damascus, Syria – A senior Syrian official, Mohammad al-Sharaa, stated that the Syrian Democratic Forces’ (SDF) ties to external actors are among the most significant factors hindering the implementation of previously signed agreements between Damascus and the Autonomous Administration areas in northern and eastern Syria.

Al-Sharaa explained that these external ties limit the government’s ability to implement agreed-upon policies. He added that they further complicate the situation on the ground, impacting regional stability and obstructing proposed political and security solutions.

The official noted that Damascus is continuously striving to activate the agreements and serve the interests of citizens in conflict-affected areas. He emphasized the necessity of strengthening national dialogue and preserving national sovereignty to overcome any obstacles to implementation.

This statement comes amidst ongoing security and political challenges in northern and eastern Syria. External interference is impacting the political process and necessitates intensified coordination between the government and local factions to achieve lasting stability.
