Moscow, Russia – Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov affirmed that Moscow attaches particular importance to developing and strengthening its relations with African countries, noting that the continent represents a strategic partner for Russia in various fields. Lavrov explained that Russian-African cooperation is not limited to the political sphere, but also encompasses the areas of economics, investment, energy, education, and culture, contributing to the promotion of sustainable development and strengthening ties between peoples.
Lavrov noted that Russia is working to open new avenues for cooperation in infrastructure, industry, and agriculture, with a focus on exchanging technical and technological expertise to support development projects in African countries. He also stressed the importance of strengthening joint political and security dialogue to contribute to stability and peace across the continent.
The Russian minister added that Moscow believes its partnership with Africa is based on mutual respect and common interests, and that these relations represent a real opportunity to support development projects and achieve economic growth that benefits African peoples and strengthens Russia’s position as a reliable partner.
