Yemen, Aden – Major General Aidarus Qasim Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council and Vice President of the Presidential Leadership Council, received a phone call today, Thursday, from his brother, Lieutenant General Tariq Saleh, Head of the Political Bureau of the National Resistance and Vice President of the Presidential Leadership Council.
During the call, the two sides discussed coordinating joint efforts and enhancing cooperation among various forces in confronting terrorist groups, primarily the Houthi militia and al-Qaeda. They emphasized the importance of maintaining security and stability in liberated areas and activating state institutions there.
Achieving stability in the south is a starting point for liberating the north
Major General Al-Zubaidi and Lieutenant General Tariq Saleh emphasized that achieving stability in the south is a true starting point for liberating the remaining parts of the north, and also for eliminating the threat of the Houthi terrorist militia.
They emphasized that the battle is one and the risks and threats are shared. Coordination and joint cooperation form the basis of the current and future phases. Furthermore, military and political capabilities will be united with all sincere national forces until the desired objectives are achieved.
Both sides indicated that their shared goal was to reclaim the land and cleanse it of “the filth of the Imamate, all the way to Sana’a,” and everything that threatens religion, Arab identity, and national security.
The role of the South in the national struggle
Al-Zubaidi and Saleh also emphasized the importance and role of the South in the national struggle. In this struggle, the Arab Coalition supports the Yemeni people in liberating the North and retaking the capital, Sana’a, which has been seized by the Iranian-backed forces.
Both sides emphasized their commitment to avoiding side conflicts and focusing on shared objectives. They concluded the call by affirming their continued communication and coordination in the coming period.
