Beirut, Lebanon – Lebanese President Joseph Aoun said that Israel is ignoring calls to stop the attacks,
indicating that these Israeli attacks will lead to a deterioration
that will reignite tensions in the region.
He called on the international community to intervene forcefully to stop Israel’s attacks.
He added, in televised remarks on Sunday, that Israel refuses to
implement international resolutions and all initiatives proposed
to halt the escalation and restore stability.
He noted that Lebanon renews its call to the international
community to assume its responsibility,
Aoun intervenes strongly and seriously to stop the attacks, preventing
any deterioration that would bring tension back to the region.
Lebanese sources reported that there were 5 martyrs
and 20 wounded in an initial count of
an Israeli raid on the southern suburbs of Beirut.
