Damascus, Syria – The official Syrian news agency (SANA) reported hearing an explosion in the Mezzeh area of the Syrian capital, Damascus.

She noted that the relevant authorities are currently

investigating the nature and causes of the explosion.

Two senior Syrian officials had confirmed earlier this month

that two separate attempts by the organization had been thwarted.

This was to target Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa.

ISIS control

This comes in a historical context marked by ISIS’s control over large

areas in Syria and Iraq between 2014 and 2018.

This was before the US-backed Syrian Democratic

Forces declared the end of the organization.

The revelation of assassination attempts against President al-Sharaa

has given a personal dimension to international efforts to combat the organization.

Including joining a US-led coalition.

including the capital Damascus.

between the two sides to reduce military escalation.

Especially with the continued security instability and terrorist threats,

This increases the need for close monitoring by the authorities

to ensure the safety of civilians and the protection of vital facilities.

regarding the nature of the explosion and its impact.

At a time when the international community is closely

monitoring the security situation in Damascus,

Amid reports of potential attacks by terrorist organizations
