US Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines arrived in Israel on a surprise visit. The visit aims to support the implementation of the Gaza agreement and to monitor developments in the field and humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.

Diplomatic sources said that during her visit, Haines will meet with senior Israeli officials. Discussions will focus on the mechanisms for implementing the recent agreement brokered by the United States, Qatar, and Egypt. The agreement aims to establish a ceasefire, facilitate a prisoner exchange, and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.

The visit comes at a time when Washington is seeking to solidify the ceasefire and prevent renewed escalation. This is happening amid growing international pressure to halt military operations and achieve a breakthrough on the humanitarian front. Meanwhile, the US administration reaffirms its commitment to Israel’s security and its support for efforts to achieve stability in the region.
