Islamabad, Pakistan – Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced on Tuesday that the 27th constitutional amendment
will soon be presented to Parliament.
He stressed that the government would adhere to constitutional procedures
and consult with all political forces.
The government is holding consultations
During a Senate session, Dar said that the government is holding consultations
with the Pakistan Peoples Party, the largest ally in the coalition.
She will consult with the other partners
before formally submitting the draft proposal.
The proposed amendment sparked widespread controversy in political circles.

to the provinces under the Eighteenth Amendment,
The approval process will be transparent
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) movement announced
its intention to strongly oppose the proposal.
Dar indicated that the process of approving the amendment
“will be completely transparent.”
It will go through the necessary parliamentary discussions.
He explained that the government is following the “usual procedure” in legislation.
