Quneitra, Syria – Israeli army forces penetrated, on Thursday, into the town of Kudna in the Quneitra countryside in southern Syria. This was through a patrol that included 15 military vehicles.

A bulldozer was also brought in to carry out excavation and dredging work on agricultural lands in eastern Tell al-Ahmar.

Media reported that “the Israeli occupation patrol penetrated the vicinity of the village of Kudna”.

This is in parallel with the implementation of excavation work and the raising of earthen barriers in the eastern Tell al-Ahmar, located south of the town.

There is a state of anxiety among the residents of Quneitra about the possibility of their evacuation from the area surrounding the eastern Tell al-Ahmar.

She reported that the Israeli army penetrated two towns in the Quneitra countryside in the south of the country. They also conducted an inspection in the area.

She stated, “Israeli occupation forces are penetrating the towns of Jabata al-Khashab and Ofania in the northern Quneitra countryside. They are accompanied by military vehicles loaded with soldiers. They are carrying out searches and deployments on some rooftops amid low flights of marches”.

The Israeli army did not announce the reasons for that incursion and its objectives. Nor was there an immediate comment from the Syrian side.

Since the fall of the Assad regime on December 8 (December) 2024, Israel has been violating Syria’s sovereignty by bombing. They are also expanding their occupation of lands in the south.

This is happening even though the Syrian administration has not shown any aggressive approach towards Tel Aviv.

Since 1967, Israel has occupied most of the Syrian Golan Heights.

It also took advantage of the new situation after the fall of the Assad regime. They did this by occupying the Syrian buffer zone. It announced the collapse of the disengagement agreement between the two sides in 1974.
