Cairo, Egypt – The film “Lion” continued its reign at the top of the box office, achieving strong figures in revenues on Thursday, confirming the continued momentum it has enjoyed since its release in cinemas, amidst increasing competition from a number of films currently showing.
Strong box office returns
The film “Lion” recorded daily revenues of 5,278,849 Egyptian pounds, after selling more than 34,000 tickets, with its screening in 82 cinemas, topping the daily revenue list by a clear margin over its closest competitors.

The film “Asad” takes place in a dramatic setting during the nineteenth century in Egypt, where it presents the story of a slave named Asad, who lives a psychological struggle due to the harsh reality imposed on him by society, before things get complicated when he enters into a secret love story with a free woman, and confrontations with the social restrictions prevalent in that period begin.
