Dubai, UAE – Dubai Airports said that the technologies and solutions that will shape the travel experience at Al Maktoum International Airport will not wait until its opening in 2032. Parts of it will currently be tested and implemented at Dubai International Airport. This allows it to be developed and improved in a real operating environment before being transferred to the new airport.

The Al Maktoum International Airport development project has entered a new phase of large-scale construction implementation. With preparations to award packages of contracts with a total value of more than 55 billion dirhams during the current year. The project is proceeding according to the target schedule to start operating its first phase in 2032.

Al Maktoum International Airport

Al Maktoum International Airport is being developed to be the world’s largest aviation hub, with an annual passenger capacity exceeding 260 million. And 12 million tons of air freight, when its final phase is completed.

The airport will include five parallel runways with independent operations, two passenger buildings, and seven gate buildings with more than 430 aircraft parking lots connected to them. In addition to an integrated automated passenger transport system and seamless multimodal connectivity, including air, rail, and land transport.
