Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency reported that the number of Iranian military personnel killed by U.S. airstrikes this week has risen to at least 13, following the reported deaths of six additional service members on Thursday, including three military pilots in southern Iran.

Widespread Airstrikes and Casualties

Tuesday’s U.S. strikes were characterized as the most extensive in weeks, following a month-long lull in direct hostilities. The operations targeted multiple sites across southern and western Iran, inflicting casualties across regular military units, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force, and the paramilitary Basij.

In addition to military losses, an Iranian Health Ministry official reported that 18 civilians were killed—including individuals attending a wedding—and 142 were injured between August 30 and September 2, drawing renewed concern over non-combatant casualties.

Broader Conflict Dynamics

Ultimately, the accumulating casualties highlight the persistent severity of the ongoing military confrontation involving Washington and Tehran. With the U.S. reporting 18 service members killed and more than 750 wounded throughout the conflict, regional observers expect continued operational strain as both nations navigate heightened security risks.
