Abu Dhabi, UAE – The United Arab Emirates strongly condemned on Tuesday the Iranian attack targeting two national oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, affirming that the attack constitutes a serious violation of international law and a direct threat to maritime security and global trade.
The UAE emphasized that targeting commercial vessels and civilian infrastructure is unacceptable and unjustifiable, stressing the need to protect maritime routes and ensure freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, which is a vital artery for energy transport and international trade.
Abu Dhabi called on the international community to take a firm stance to halt the escalation and work to enhance security and stability in the region, thereby safeguarding international navigation and preventing the widening of tensions that threaten regional security and the global economy.
