Abu Dhabi, UAE – Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, discussed regional developments following the agreement on the memorandum of understanding
between the United States and Iran during a phone call with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi.
The two sides also discussed the signing of the memorandum by both countries.
Confirmation of the agreement’s implementation
During the call, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed emphasized the importance of full adherence to the terms of the agreement,
ensuring an immediate and comprehensive cessation of hostilities in the region.
He also stressed the need to respect the sovereignty of states, uphold the principles of good neighborliness, and abide by international law.
The UAE Foreign Minister further emphasized the necessity of protecting maritime routes and freedom of international navigation.
He underscored the importance of ensuring the smooth flow of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz,
expressing his hope that the ongoing negotiations would yield positive results.
He also expressed his hope for outcomes that would achieve lasting security and stability in the region.

The UAE Foreign Minister indicated that serious diplomacy and responsible dialogue are the best way to address regional and international crises.
