Abu Dhabi, UAE – The United Arab Emirates has confirmed its full readiness to host the work of the Fifteenth United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, scheduled to be held in the capital, Abu Dhabi, next September.
This step reflects its advanced position in hosting major international events of a legal and humanitarian nature.
Organizational readiness and sustainable outputs
The UAE Minister of Justice, Abdullah Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi, stated that the country is working
to ensure the organization of a conference that achieves practical outcomes and a lasting legacy,
contributing to the development of justice systems and crime prevention at the international level.
He also emphasized the importance of strengthening multilateral cooperation in this field.
Al Nuaimi called on member states to support the adoption of the “Abu Dhabi Declaration”
during the conference’s opening. He also urged participation in the “Pledge for Justice” initiative,
which would guarantee a tangible international commitment to developing criminal justice systems.
A global platform to promote international cooperation
The minister explained that the conference is the largest international platform specializing in criminal justice issues.
It includes more than 250 side meetings and 35 specialized exhibitions,
making it a key venue for exchanging expertise and strengthening international partnerships in combating emerging crimes.
He noted that the conference agenda will address pivotal issues including environmental crimes,
artificial intelligence, drug control, money laundering, and violence against children.
It will also cover developing mechanisms for accessing justice and rehabilitating offenders.
A participatory approach and broad partnerships
The Minister of Justice affirmed that the UAE adopts a participatory approach in organizing the conference,
involving governments, the private sector, civil society, and youth.
He also highlighted the importance of accompanying initiatives
such as “Generation Justice” and the Youth Forum, which precedes the conference proceedings.
He emphasized that hosting this global event reflects the UAE commitment to supporting the international justice system.
Furthermore, it seeks to enhance cooperation in addressing contemporary security and legal challenges,
thereby contributing to stability and the protection of societies.
