Amsterdam, Netherlands – Spaniard Eugenio Lopez Chacara joined the top ten list in the world rankings for the “Race to Dubai” competitions in the “DB World” golf round. After rising to sixth place in the rankings issued on Monday. Benefiting from winning the Dutch Open “KLM” title, which concluded yesterday in Amsterdam.

Chakara, 26 years old, succeeded in clinching the title with a total of 11 under-average hits, achieving his second victory in his career in the “DB World” round. After winning the Hero India Open title last year.

The Spanish player scored 585 points, increasing his score to 1522 points. To advance 13 places at once and settle in sixth place on the standings “Race to Dubai”.

Chakara’s coronation came after a decisive blow on the last hole of the final round, which he described as one of the best blows of his career. Stressing that it gave him the opportunity to achieve the victory he had always dreamed of.

Who is Chakara?

Chacara, born in Madrid, Spain, was a promising football player before turning to golf following a wrist injury. He excelled during his university career in the United States. He reached second place in the world amateur rankings before turning professional in 2022.

In the same tournament, Finn Oliver Lindell finished second with a total of ten under par. To score 389 points and advance to fifteenth place in the standings “Race to Dubai” with 1043 points.

Competition between the elite

Competition continues between the world’s elite players to reserve their places in the final qualifiers for the season, which will be hosted by the UAE next November. The top 70 players in the “Race to Dubai” standings qualify to participate in the Abu Dhabi Championship at Yas Links Stadium during the period from 5 to 8 November 2026. Before the top 50 players qualify for the final round “DB World” tournament at Jumeirah Real Estate Golf Club from November 12 to 15.

The Dutch championship was the twenty-second stop in the “Race to Dubai” season. Which includes 42 tournaments held in 25 countries around the world.

This week, all eyes are on the US Open, the third major tournament of the season. Which is held in New York State with the participation of elite international golfers.
