London, UK – Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Jonathan Powell in London.
They discussed current regional developments and the repercussions of the attacks targeting civilian sites
and facilities in the United Arab Emirates. Missiles and drones were used in these attacks.
British support and reaffirmation of solidarity
The British side expressed its solidarity with the UAE and condemned these attacks,
affirming its support for efforts to protect the country’s security and stability amidst escalating regional challenges.
Zayed and Powell discussed the serious repercussions of these developments
on international maritime security, energy supplies, and the global economy.
They also emphasized the importance of strengthening international cooperation
to protect maritime routes and ensure the freedom of global trade.
Strengthening political and security cooperation
The meeting also addressed ways to enhance regional and international coordination to confront escalating security challenges.
Support for efforts aimed at reducing tensions and achieving stability in the region was discussed.
In addition, several areas of strategic cooperation between the two countries were reviewed.
