Abu Dhabi, UAE – The UAE’s National Media Authority (NMA) has announced the launch of the National Media Standards 2026 campaign, under the slogan “Creativity, Inspiration, Integrity.”
This initiative aims to support the creation of meaningful media content and enhance the quality of media output.
Furthermore, it seeks to solidify the UAE’s position as a global hub for responsible media creativity and innovation.
Promoting media awareness
The authority confirmed that the five-week campaign, which will run across the country, targets both citizens and residents.
It aims to build a unified national vision that makes media literacy a tool for protecting thought and promoting societal values,
with a focus on empowering individuals to distinguish between credible and misleading content.
The authority explained that the campaign is not limited to simply introducing professional standards,
but also aims to transform them into a deeply rooted societal culture that supports national identity and keeps pace with modern digital developments.
The campaign includes organizing community media forums, dialogue sessions, and seminars at national and international universities.
It also features field visits by the mobile interactive unit, which includes content verification tools and mini-studios under the title “My Story in the UAE.”
Supporting youth and content creators
The campaign also involves coordination between media offices, government entities, and cultural councils.
This aims to unify efforts to support a sustainable and responsible media industry.
Dr. Jamal Mohammed Al Kaabi, Secretary-General of the National Media Authority,
emphasized that the campaign places youth and content creators at the heart of the media development process.
He also noted that the UAE is working to build a media environment
that combines innovation and credibility and protects society from misinformation.
He added that the campaign aims to achieve more than 10,000 downloads
of the “Media Compass” guide, making it a key reference for content creators.
He further stressed that awareness is the cornerstone of protecting national achievements and enhancing the country’s digital sovereignty.
The campaign’s activities will launch tomorrow with the first Community Media Council meeting at the Mushrif Council in Abu Dhabi.
Media professionals, influencers, media students, and content creators will participate in this event.
