Abu Dhabi, UAE – His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, received His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of the Arab Republic of Egypt, who is on a fraternal visit to the UAE. They discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance them. They also reviewed regional developments and their implications for security and stability.

Fraternal relations and growing cooperation

During the meeting, the two sides discussed various aspects of cooperation between their countries and ways to enhance it in the developmental and economic fields. This serves their shared interests and supports sustainable development in both brotherly nations, ultimately contributing to the growth and prosperity of their peoples.

Both sides affirmed their commitment to continued coordination and consultation to strengthen the deep-rooted fraternal relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Arab Republic of Egypt. This includes cooperation across various sectors.

Regional developments and coordination of positions

The meeting addressed regional and international developments, and the two sides exchanged views on these matters. This comes amidst rapidly evolving challenges and repercussions affecting regional and international security and stability.

Both sides emphasized the importance of supporting efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions and promoting stability in the region. This serves the interests of its people and helps prevent further escalation of tensions.

Egyptian condemnation of regional escalation

During the meeting, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi reiterated his country’s condemnation of the attacks targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure in the United Arab Emirates. He affirmed Egypt’s full solidarity with the UAE in confronting any threats to its security and sovereignty. He also reaffirmed Egypt’s support for all measures taken by the UAE to protect its territory, citizens, and residents.

Field visit and readiness review

The visit also included a tour by the UAE President and the Egyptian President of the Egyptian fighter jet detachment stationed in the UAE. This was to assess their operational readiness and capabilities, and the efforts being made to enhance preparedness for various challenges.

A number of sheikhs and senior officials from both sides attended the meeting. This visit underscores the strength of UAE-Egyptian relations and the growing joint coordination on various issues of mutual interest.
