ANKARA, Turkey – Swedish player Michael Lindberg has been named the Asian Series champion this season in the Race to Dubai at DB World Golf Tour. This was at the conclusion of the Turkish Open Championship, which he won on Sunday. It is the first in his career in the round in which competitions continue with the participation of elite world stars. Who are competing to reserve qualifying seats for the finals scheduled to be held in the UAE in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, respectively, next November.

The 33-year-old player succeeded in ending a long wait. In his 70th participation in a DB World Tour tournament, he joined the list of title winners. After finishing the competition, which was sponsored by Turkish Airlines, with 10 under par.

Thanks to this title, Lindbergh gained the top spot in the Asian Series standings. Its competitions were held across four tournaments in China (two tournaments), India, and Turkey, with a total of 822 points.

Lindbergh also benefited from his victory by advancing in the world rankings issued on Monday for the “Race to Dubai”. He ranks seventh with a total of 1,031 points, having participated in 10 tournaments this season.

In exchange for winning the honorary title of the “Asian Series”, Lindbergh won a ticket to participate in the American Championship “BGA”, one of the four major golf tournaments. In addition to participating in the “Pac 9” championship series this season as part of the DB World tour. In addition to an additional cash prize of 200,000 US dollars.

The Turkish Open is the 17th stop this season. Competitions bearing the name and logo of Dubai are scheduled to tour around the world under the name “Race to Dubai” in 25 countries to hold at least 42 championships.

The final qualifiers will be held in the UAE. The top 70 players will qualify for the Abu Dhabi Championship at Yas Links from November 5 to 8, 2026. The top 50 players will then qualify for the DB World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Real Estate Golf Club from November 12 to 15, 2026.
