Abu Dhabi, UAE – Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced the launch of a new government system aimed at fundamentally transforming the performance of the federal government by relying on autonomous and self-driving artificial intelligence (AI) models.
He explained that this step comes under the directives of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The plan also aims to convert 50% of government sectors, services, and operations to AI-powered models within a specific timeframe not exceeding two years, in a move that aims to make the UAE a global leader in this field.
Bin Rashid emphasized that there is a strict timeline for implementing this transformation, stressing that the performance evaluation of ministers, directors-general, and all federal entities in the coming phase will depend primarily on their ability to keep pace with this trend and implement it effectively.
He indicated that the government will work to qualify all its employees to become experts in artificial intelligence technologies. This will be achieved through ongoing specialized training programs, ensuring the required efficiency in managing this qualitative transformation.
In the same context, he noted that Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan will oversee the implementation of this vision, while a working group headed by Mohammed Al Gergawi has been formed to monitor its execution and ensure the achievement of the desired objectives within the specified timeframe.
This step is viewed as an unprecedented strategic shift in government work models. This transformation reflects the UAE’s commitment to building a smart, agile government capable of making decisions and delivering services autonomously. It also enhances performance efficiency and solidifies its global leadership in government innovation.
