Sharjah, UAE – In a move that embodies Sharjah’s commitment to enhancing its digital readiness and consolidating an advanced cybersecurity system that supports the sustainability of comprehensive digital transformation. The Sharjah Cybersecurity Center, affiliated with the Sharjah Digital Department, organized the “Sharjah Cyber Shield” forum, with wide participation from government leaders and experts in cybersecurity, information technology, and strategic planning.
The forum constituted a strategic platform for unifying visions and exchanging experiences between government agencies and specialized partners, and reviewing the latest global trends and practices in cybersecurity. In addition to examining mechanisms for developing an integrated digital protection system based on institutional readiness, proactiveness in risk management, and enhancing integration between various government agencies.

Success of digital transformation
The forum also discussed the importance of cybersecurity as a fundamental pillar in the success of digital transformation and the sustainability of government services. A pivotal factor in protecting the emirate’s digital infrastructure and enhancing the reliability of its digital systems and services, thus consolidating community confidence in the government’s digital environment.
The specialized sessions at the forum highlighted the tasks of the Sharjah Cybersecurity Centre and its role in protecting digital infrastructure. In addition to introducing the Emirate of Sharjah’s cybersecurity strategy, the Cybersecurity Operations Center, compliance and governance axes, cyber resilience, and cyber media. As well as its programs to develop specialized national capabilities and adopt proactive operating models based on risk analysis, early monitoring, and intelligent threat response. This contributes to establishing a corporate culture that elevates the value of cybersecurity as a shared responsibility and an integral part of daily government work.
The conclusion of the forum witnessed the Sharjah Cybersecurity Center honoring a number of entities and partners, in appreciation of their role in supporting efforts to enhance cybersecurity. And their effective contributions to establishing a safe and sustainable digital environment. In addition to their strategic partnerships that have contributed to raising awareness and digital protection in the emirate.

A proactive approach to protecting the emirate’s digital future
In this context, Eng. Abdul Nasser Obaid Bukhatir, Director of the Sharjah Cybersecurity Centre, stressed that cybersecurity is no longer just a supporting technical function. Rather, it has become an essential strategic element in protecting business continuity, ensuring the sustainability of government services, and preserving national and development gains in the digital age.
Abdulnasser Bukhatir said: “The Sharjah Cyber Shield Forum reflects the Emirate of Sharjah’s vision of addressing cybersecurity as a strategic possibility for digital transformation, rather than simply a technical preventative measure. The more digital services expand, the more important it is to build an advanced security system that protects the digital infrastructure, ensures continuity of services, and enhances confidence in the government digital environment.”
He added: “At the Sharjah Cybersecurity Centre, we are working to develop an integrated institutional model based on smart governance and cyber resilience. Readiness and preparedness, integrating roles between government agencies, and moving from the logic of responding to threats to a proactive approach capable of predicting and containing risks before they occur. To enhance the flexibility of digital government and its readiness for the future.”
He pointed out that the forum embodies the Emirate of Sharjah’s move towards building an advanced model in cybersecurity at the regional level, based on unifying government efforts, exchanging knowledge, and adopting the best global solutions and technologies. To enhance the emirate’s competitiveness and consolidate its position as a safe, reliable, and innovation-stimulating digital environment.
The forum is being organized as part of the Sharjah Digital Department’s efforts to develop an integrated and secure digital system that supports the emirate’s digital transformation goals.
