Dubai, UAE – The Syrian Business Council in Dubai and the Northern Emirates strongly condemned the acts of vandalism and rioting that targeted the UAE diplomatic mission in the Syrian capital, Damascus.

The Council considered these actions a blatant violation of international norms and conventions.

Calls for an immediate investigation and accountability for those involved

In an official statement, the council affirmed that these acts were perpetrated by a small, lawless group.

It indicated their connection to entities supported by the Iranian regime.

The council clarified that the majority of those involved were non-Syrians, reflecting the nature and background of these attacks.

The council called upon the relevant authorities in the Syrian government to launch an immediate investigation to uncover the circumstances of the incident.

It also demanded that those involved be identified and held accountable according to applicable legal frameworks.

This measure must ensure that such incidents are not repeated in the future.

Praise for the UAE’s role in supporting Syrians

The Syrian Business Council commended the UAE’s humanitarian role in hosting the Syrian people,

emphasizing that the UAE has provided them with a safe and dignified environment

and has contributed to their participation in the country’s development and prosperity.

The Council stressed that the Syrian community in the UAE expresses

its deep gratitude to the country and affirms its unwavering support in the face of any aggression or abuse.

They also reiterated their commitment to the values ​​of loyalty and belonging that bind them to the UAE.

The Council concluded its statement by emphasizing the need to respect international laws that guarantee the protection of diplomatic missions.

It also affirmed its rejection of any attempts to undermine their security or disrespect their national symbols.
