Dubai, UAE – His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, has ordered the release of 1,856 inmates of various nationalities from correctional and rehabilitation facilities in Dubai. This comes on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.

فرصة جديدة مع الشهر الفضيل

His Excellency Counselor Essam Issa Al Humaidan, Attorney General of the Emirate of Dubai, affirmed that the pardon comes within the framework of His Highness’s keenness to give those included in the pardon an opportunity to reflect on their actions and correct their course. This allows them to return to their families as productive and contributing members of society, while adhering to the law and respecting its provisions.

He pointed out that this initiative reflects the leadership’s approach to promoting the values of tolerance and compassion, especially during religious occasions. It also contributes to strengthening family and social stability.

Immediate implementation of procedures

The Attorney General explained that the Dubai Public Prosecution immediately initiated the necessary legal procedures to implement the pardon as quickly as possible, paving the way for the release of those included in the amnesty. This will allow them to spend Ramadan with their families.

This decision is an extension of the humanitarian initiatives issued annually by the Dubai leadership on national and religious occasions. It also reaffirms their commitment to providing inmates with the opportunity to reintegrate into society and build a new future based on adherence to the law and positive action.
