Fujairah, UAE – The fourth edition of the World Youth Karate League “Fujairah 2026” kicked off on Thursday.
With the participation of an elite group of male and female players from around the world, amid international praise for the organization and the UAE’s continued support for the sport of karate.
Spaniard Antonio Spinos, President of the International Karate Federation, expressed his thanks to the UAE for its great efforts in supporting the karate process globally.
He praised the prominent role of Major General Nasser Abdul Razzaq Al Marzouqi and his contributions to developing the game and enhancing its successes on the international scene, in addition to the efforts of the Emirates Karate Federation and the Supreme Organizing Committee.
For his part, Major General Nasser Abdul Razzaq Al Razouki, President of the UAE and Asian Karate Federations and Vice President of the International Federation, stressed that the event represents a unique opportunity for young people from all over the world to meet, exchange experiences and embody the sporting values on which karate is based.
In terms of organization, the FIFA President and Vice President held an important meeting with the tournament referees to check on the level of readiness.
He also stressed the implementation of new amendments to the International Arbitration Law, while a referees’ course for international badge tests was held on the sidelines of the tournament.
The first day’s competitions were strong and exciting.
The results showed that Indonesian Zaskaya won the gold medal in the youth kata, and Japanese Takamasa Yatoji won the gold medal in the youth kata.
While the kumite gold medals were distributed among a number of champions, most notably Egyptian Roaaa Al-Taher in the over 66 kg weight class for young women, Saudi Abdulrahman Arafat in the under 55 kg weight class for young men, and Turkish Burak Osman in the under 76 kg weight class.
