Dubai,UAE-His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, affirmed that the UAE is committed to supporting the development of the global food industry
by building an integrated system that encourages innovation and adopts the latest technologies.
This will contribute to increasing the efficiency of production and trade, and enhancing the resilience
and sustainability of the international food system.
This came during His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid’s visit on Tuesday to part of
the activities of the 31st edition of Gulfood 2026, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
The event is witnessing unprecedented international participation, reflecting Dubai’s position as a global hub
for trade and for organizing major exhibitions with a broad economic impact.
More than 8500 exhibitors
This year’s Gulfood is experiencing its largest expansion in its history, with the participation of
more than 8,500 exhibitors from approximately 195 countries.
More than 1.5 million products across various food industry sectors are being showcased,
reinforcing its role as a global platform connecting markets, producers, and innovators,
and a key hub in the global food system and supply chains.
The event runs until January 30, 2020, at the Dubai Exhibition Centre in Expo Centre Dubai.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid praised the scale and quality of international participation,
considering it a reflection of the firm global confidence in Dubai as a destination for major business and exhibitions.
A link between global markets
He emphasized that Gulfood reinforces the emirate’s role as a link between global markets
and contributes to supporting a vital sector that is a key driver of global economic growth.
During his tour, accompanied by several senior officials, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid visited
a number of participating country and company pavilions,
and reviewed the latest food products, innovative solutions, and modern technologies that support industry development and enhance its sustainability.
The tour included visits to the pavilions of the Netherlands, Japan, and Italy,
where he viewed advanced models of sustainable agriculture, food processing technologies, and value-added products,
as well as modern innovations in packaging, quality, and food safety,
all designed to meet the demands of evolving global markets and strengthen international trade partnerships.
