Abu Dhabi, UAE – The United Arab Emirates expressed its full solidarity with the friendly Islamic Republic of Pakistan following the fire that broke out in a shopping mall in Karachi, resulting in several deaths and injuries.

In an official statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the UAE extends its deepest condolences and sincere sympathies to the families of the victims and to the government and people of Pakistan, affirming its support for its brothers and sisters in this tragic event. The Ministry added that the UAE is closely monitoring developments related to the incident and calls upon the Pakistani authorities to exert every effort to provide medical care and relief to those affected.

Promoting the spirit of human solidarity

This fire is the latest in a series of tragic incidents in Pakistan. The UAE has previously expressed its solidarity and condolences for the victims of rescue boat capsizings during flood relief efforts, as well as for those killed in floods and landslides that claimed dozens of lives, and for the victims of helicopter crashes. These consistent stances reflect the UAE’s commitment to fostering a spirit of humanitarian solidarity with brotherly and friendly nations in all circumstances, and underscore the importance of providing support and solace to victims and their families, and mitigating the effects of disasters and crises.

Dealing with the aftermath of the fire

The UAE’s solidarity with Pakistan and its support for the Pakistani people during these recurring tragedies reflects the country’s humanitarian role at the regional and international levels, and its ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation in relief and humanitarian aid. This contributes to enhancing social and human security and effectively addressing emerging challenges.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to closely monitor the situation, emphasizing the country’s readiness to provide any additional support to Pakistan in addressing the repercussions of the incident, protecting those affected, and strengthening the fraternal relations between the two countries.
