Abu Dhabi, UAE – Emirates Nuclear Energy Company signed a memorandum of understanding with the Saskatchewan Research Council, Canada’s leading technological research and development organization, and the World Energy, Minerals and Society Institute of Canada.

This comes on the sidelines of the World Future Energy Summit, with the aim of enhancing cooperation in the fields of nuclear research and development and human capacity building.

The memorandum of understanding establishes a framework for cooperation in the field of miniature nuclear reactors and advanced reactor systems.

In addition to working to enhance operational performance and improve the efficiency and reliability of stations.

It also explores the practical use of digital applications, including artificial intelligence and robotics, to support safe and responsible nuclear operations.

The memorandum supports the exchange of knowledge and the development of competencies and human cadres.

Which contributes to building long-term capabilities in the nuclear energy sector.

In addition to enhancing the use of the UAE’s expertise in implementing and operating the Barakah nuclear power plants and international cooperation in this sector.
