Abu Dhabi, UAE — His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, chaired a meeting of the UAE Cabinet held at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi.
The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister,
and Chairman of the Presidential Court, along with a number of Their Highnesses and Excellencies, ministers.
During the meeting, the Cabinet reviewed the outcomes of the government’s journey and
the achievements accomplished over the past twenty years since His Highness assumed the premiership on 5 January 2006.
This period witnessed fundamental transformations in the methodology of government work,
the development of institutional performance, and the strengthening of the United Arab Emirates’ position regionally and globally.
16,000 decisions
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum affirmed that during this period, the federal government issued more than 16,000 decisions.
It also operated through thousands of task teams, with budgets exceeding AED 1.1 trillion.
Through these efforts, the government reengineered its operations, focused on facilitating services, modernizing legislation,
and developing the technological, investment, and legal infrastructure, reaching a new phase of accelerated development work.
His Highness pointed out that the United Arab Emirates, under the leadership
of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, has established a pioneering development model.
The country has ranked among the top performers in more than 280 global indicators across fields
such as citizen well-being, education, healthcare, the economy, artificial intelligence,
and future industries, and has become a key economic hub connecting East and West.
Ambitious national strategies
The Cabinet explained that this journey included the launch of ambitious national strategies and advanced models of government excellence.
It also encompassed programs to simplify procedures and eliminate bureaucracy, alongside investment in innovation
and future-building, as well as the development of legislation and policies that support sustainable development.
The Cabinet also reviewed unprecedented economic leaps, significant growth in foreign trade
and foreign direct investment, and the country’s advancement in global competitiveness indicators,
in addition to achievements in Emiratization and the integration of national talents into the private sector.
The Cabinet affirmed that the achievements realized over the past two decades represent a solid foundation for a more prosperous future.
It emphasized that the next phase will witness continued efforts driven by a spirit of excellence and leadership,
in a manner that fulfills the aspirations of the leadership and the people, and strengthens the UAE’s position
as a global model for government performance and comprehensive development.
